Worth It

Hobby Lobby had their stamps 50% off a couple of weeks ago so I had to get this stamp by American Art Stamps. They have the cutest sayings on their Emerson line. The lavender paper is actually a card set that JoAnn's had on clearance. The green paper is from a Miss Elizabeth packet I picked up at the $1 store. It is the little strip on the front that shows what paper is in the packet, It was perfect so I used it.

I did do another WT115 card challenge using Stars & Swirls. I also used Mixed Greetings, I think it was from a mini catty awhile back. Cardstock is Brillant Blue, Real Red, White & the adhesive border strips from DCWV. I used a white gel pen for stitches and scalloped scissors to cut out around the sentiment. Beate has a tutorial that shows how to do this. I am off to play some more!

SCS-WT115 Challenge

I took the challenge http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253433&page=4 . I am not sure if I like this or not. The colors did not scan well at all. I used all SU! products, Elegant Eggplant, Summer Sun, Old Olive & White cardstock, Inks were Lavender Lace, Summer Sun, Certainly Celery, Old Olive and Craft White. The purpose of the challenge is to use a set that will be retiring the end of June. I may try another set too.
Here is a distant shot of the Sunflowers so you could see how tall they are, the flower to the left of the one that has bloomed is getting ready to open. I think it must be almost 7 feet tall.

Rak & Brak Cards

I made this card this afternoon....I love this set. I used SU! Like it a Latte, French Script and Canvas BG stamps, DS Au Chocolat paper brayered with Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip & Pretty in Pink CS, Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink ink, SU light Pink Grosgrain Ribbon. The card is a trifold cut at 8 1/2 x 4 3/4 to fit in a 5 x 5 envelope.

This card is the same size & fold. I brayered the Au Chocolat DS paper with Cool Caribbean ink.
Stamp sets used are Little Lady from PaperTreyInk, SU! Canvas BG stamp. Inks are again Cool Caribbean & Close to Cocoa.
Between playing with 2 of my grandsons & DH coming home eary tonight, I didn't get all the stamping in I had planned. We watched The Guardian with Kevin Costner & Ashton Kutcher. What a good movie. Oh Well I am off to bed....Sweet dreams to all.

More Happy Mail

Today I received a SCS-Rak from Phyllis aka HUTstamper. Cute little basket that she ran thru her cuttlebug. The punched out design has glitter on it that you can't see but it just adds some pop to the card. Thanks Phyllis.

Finally, we have watermelons setting on. After 3 attempts to replant the garden, I guess the roadrunner got his fill and quit digging up all the seeds. My garden is really behind due the that silly roadrunner....where is that coyote when you need him? Just kidding......I don't want any harm to come to the roadrunner.

My 1st mammoth sunflower has finally bloomed too. She stands about 6 and a half feet tall. I love these flowers. I try to plant them every year. We have quail that run on our property and when the flower is done gracing us with her beauty she is plucked and laid by their trail so they can enjoy her too.

I promise to post some stamping later. I do have a few things int the making. I am going to post a template for a cute bookmark too.

Til then.....

Pink, Orange & Black

I love pink, orange & black together. Years ago I was color draped & it was decided I am a winter, which is a person who likes & should wear bright & bold colors. I seem to migrate to those colors. I guess I should try to do some more color challenges to get me to use other color groupings more.
I used SU! Pixie Pink, Black, a scrap piece of orange(not SU) and PapertreyInk White cardstock that is to die for. Very nice quality, smooth & heavy. SU! Markers were used to color the flowers, Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion, Only Orange, Pumpkin Pie, Celery & Old Olive. The SU stamp set, Easy Elegance, is a retired one....but hey what set isn't retired anymore...LOL. I also used the swirl cuttlebug folder for the pink background. The sentiment is from PapertreyInk Faux Ribbon.
I made the same card basically using Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Yoyo Yellow, Summer Sun, Certainly Celery and Old Olive. I used a little different layout but the stamped area is pretty much the same. The sentiment is from SU Much Appreciated. I love stamping my envelopes to match, inside the card I stamped just a small portion of the stem & the yellow flower.
Off to do yard work......have a great rest of the day!

I went AWOL

Sorry I haven't posted lately. Stephanie sent me an email asking if DH was OK and saying she missed my posts so I decided I would get busy. I am in the middle of making a small scrapbook from a friend who is a CTMH Demo. I placed an order & she gave me a scrapbook kit as a surprise. Whoo Hoo I love surprises. I will post it when I get it done....soon. This tri-fold card I posted is from Jenn of just4funcrafts. It is a RAK she gave me & I love it. She makes these cute little butterflies from folded paper. I thought it would work well for an unusual graduation card. Thanks Jenn!

Here is the card opened. It says "and success will follow" on the inside.

I joined the SCS Rak Group and received my 1st RAK from BarbinCo . Thanks Barb, really cute card. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is really bright and cheery....!!

OK here is part of the reason I haven't posted, my DH bought me this for mother's day. I know I am really spoiled & boy was I shocked he did this. I mentioned along time ago that I thought these little cars were so cute and if he ever got a wild hair he could buy me one. I never thought he would because I told him I would have to keep my other vehicle so I had room to take my grandbabies with me. He made a comment like yeah right, you don't need 2 vehicles, so since my grandbabies are more important to me than a crazy middle aged fantasy I dropped it. That was like in Sept of 2006. Boy oh boy he is good at surprises. Anyways Now that I have gotten the driving out of my system I will try to be better at posting. I think he figured since there wasn't much room in the trunk I wouldn't spend as much $ on supplies........thank goodness for internet sites to order from. LOL Have a wonderful Memorial Weekend. PS....I have no idea why my last post came up 3 times, I only sent it 1 time so I apologize for the glitch!

Recipe Holder

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days, my DH found out he has a torn rotor cup in his right shoulder. He is a work-a-holic and all he is doing is fretting about having to be off work for surgery. Anyway! I saw a tutorial on Dawn's blog and tought it would be great to use these recipe card clear sleeves (I picked up in the target $1 spot)to make a little recipe holder to slide in the the card sleeve . This picture is of all of it together

I bet you can't guess that this is a picture of it pulled out...LOL

And here it is open. I only put 5 sleeves in it. I didn't want it to be too tight to fit into the outer sleeve. Thanks Dawn for the great idea.

Stamps: Crafty Secrets
Paper: Wild Asparagus, SU! Regal Rose, Mellow Moss, Going Grey
Inks: SU! Basic Brown, Creamy Carmel, Regal Rose
Acc: White gel pen, Mellow Moss ribbon, SU! Markers, Eyelets

Here is a card that Laura came up with from our Wednesday group. We cut an inch off of the side of the top layer of the card and the sentiment overlapsoff of the front. (I know my sentiment is crooked). We ran the cardstock through the cuttlebug.
All supplies are from SU! unless otherwise stated.
Cardstock: Black, White & Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Ribbon(unknown but black). Black Brads, Black flower was from Recollections

Yes....Another one.

I know , I know. I need to get off this little book kick I am on and do some cards. My SIL Deb came over on Sunday & she bought a Bind It All also & had not used it so we each made a little book. I did a mini tutorial for her in person. Her book turned out darling I might add. I decided to do a black & white book althought it ended up with a ton of red accents. I bought the paper at Hobby Lobby, the coasters, waxy flax and coils are from just4funcrafts, cardstock is SU! and the ribbons and embellishments are from many different places.

I just wanted you Az readers to know that we have 3 stamping/scrapping events coming to town. The 1st is in Mesa on August 11 & 12th at the Mesa Convention Center. It is the Rubber Stamping & Scrapping Expo. Cost is $5.00, next Creating Keepsakes will be in Phoenix(not sure of location) on September 14 & 15th and the last is November 3 & 4 in Mesa again, It is the Rubber Stamp Festival. Can't wait!!! I love the rubber shows....as if I need more rubber. Have a terrific Tuesday!

Friendship Bind-It-All Book

I love my Bind-It-All. I have had so much fun making all these little books. I have a friend who has a birthday coming up so I decided to make her one. I used just about everything you can think of. All the paper & ink is SU! I used my cuttlebug, prisma flowers, I picked up the little key ring at Target in the $1 spot area. I even made a tiny Jacob's ladder that I put in a little envelope on one page. I used some friendship rub-ons, clippies from Oriental Trading, coasters from just4funcrafts. I used a variety of stamps, some are SU!, CTMH, Mike's $1 stamps, Penny Black and lots of various ribbons. I sure hope she likes it. I did leave a few spots to put pictures. I am getting tired so I am going to hit the hay. Thanks for looking.

Jacob's Ladder in a Box

I have had these little boxes around for about a year....always buying something cuz I just know it will come in handy.....Well FINALLY something did! I picked them up at Oriental Trading I do believe, they measure about 3 1/2" square. I received an email from Craft TV weekly with a tutorial on how to make a Jacob's Ladder so I decided to try it and make it fit into this little box. They are pretty fun to make and work pretty darn good. I used a chicken & sunflower theme. The paper is by Daisy D's and I picked it up on sale at Hobby Lobby. Ribbon is SU!. It is ready for pics now. I also made one using coasters. that was really easy because there was no chipboard cutting at all.

Ladybug Can

With the end of the school year approaching fast, my grandson wants to give his teacher a little gift so I put together this little can so he can fill it with goodies. I used a can topper stamp from Stampendous, the ladybugs were cut with a cricut, can is from justforfuncrafts, ribbon is SU! and from Confessions of a Ribbon Addict and paper is all SU!.

Bind-It-All

Hi All...thought I would pass on the word if you are planning on buying a Bind-It-All you may want to check out just4funcrafts. She has the machines on sale for $55 and her coils are more reasonable than others I have priced. I know I am an enabler but she just got her shipment of coils yesterday so I had to stock up & thought I would share! Have a super Saturday!

Recipe Book

Here is a book I make for jotting down some of the recipes that are in my head so I can pass them down to my girls. I really do have something other than hot air up there. LOL I used a blank book that Jenn at just4funcrafts sent me to alter. The stamp set I picked up at the CK scrapbooking show in Mesa last month is from Crafty Secrets. The paper is from Wild Asparagus.

I made a little pocket inside to hold loose recipes or whatever. I believe the recipe card in the pocket is from Rachele.

Simple Card or Stationary Holder

Sorry it took me so long to get going on this but I finally did it! My MIL is 92 and doesn't get out much to buy cards so I always try to come up with a different idea to provide her cards & somehow to hold them. I am giving this to her for Mother's Day, filling it with cards & she also gets a bouquet of flowers.
For this you will need a piece of cardstock cut at 6" x 9", decorative paper and/or stamps, a SU! 6x6 page protector, bone folder(which I forgot to put in the picture), scissors, velcro dots, glue or adhesive and ribbon.

I cut the piece off that had the holes being careful not to cut the seam.

I scored my 6X9" piece of cardstock at 2 3/4" .

I slid the cardstock into the sleeve and put the velcro dots which were stuck together on the flap & then closed the flap so the bottom velcro dot stuck to the sleeve. It is just easier that way.

When I opened it back up this is what it looks like .

I cut a piece of decorative at 5 1/2 x 5 1/4 for the inside, slid the cardstock out to position it and glued it in place. Then cut a piece for the outside of the flap, decorated it & it is done. Hope that makes sense. The verse I used is from SU Easy Elegance. All supplies were SU! except my glue and velcro.
