Cans & Cards

My friend Jenn at Just4funcrafts.com has inspired me to make some cans. She went to Alaska to visit her friend & since they don't have a "Hallmark" store there she made some cans & cards to take with her to sell in her friends coffee shop. She sold them lickity split. I couldn't resist & made a couple today. I used the PaperTreyInk stamp set Little Lady for the topper. The sentiment is also a PaperTreyInk set called Favor It
Jenn sells the cans at her store along with the darling ribbon that curls all by its self. I love it!
I made the Halloween topper but was stumped as to what to put in the middle, then my friend Alyce brought a card for us to make.....see below..... that had feet on it. I loved her idea & it was perfect for the middle of this topper(Thanks Alyce). The topper stamp is from Stampendous which Jenn ordered for me, the feet are from an Oriental trading set for a baby.
This card is for my BIL who's birthday is Tuesday. I used stubbies from Stamps by Judith & her tree stamp. The inside of the card was made using Photoshop....I know I cheated but I didn't have a stamp with a slam birthday sentiment. We won't mention how OLD he is getting but it 4 years older than myself.

Carolyn came up with this darling ice cream cone card for our Wednesday stamping session. I liked it so much I made a second card to mail to my niece in Lubbock, Tx who is having a birthday on the 31st.
Thanks Carolyn.
OK this is Alyce's card. I love this card. It cracked me up. She brought paper by Debbie Mumm from JoAnne's. Thanks Alyce.
Sam came up with the cute sparkly rocket ship card. I really sparkles in person but this picture just didn't capture it. Thanks Sam.
Rachele another friend gave me a matchbook card last Halloween and I had to case it so this is my rendition of her card. Thanks for the idea Rachele.

And the last card is a card I really don't care how it turned out but thought I would post it anyway. I used SU! cardstock, stamps & Ink. OOps the sentiment is from a TAC set. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and say a prayer for our troops active & past. See you next post.

Heart Breaker

Just a quick post. I did have time to play a little yesterday. I used a template from Patricia Komara, Michelle Coleman's Topper, Pink paper from Bella Donna by Denise Liemert and the black & white polka dot papers are by CreationsbyJo.blogspot.com. This is our little DGD after eating spagetti in her shirt from Boppa. I am off to make cards today & tomorrow.
Til then....

I have to tell you a funny story. We have some tall cows compared to our neighbors bull. We rented the bull to breed our cows but were unsure if he was tall enough to reach them. We joked around about putting a step stool out there for him or digging holes for the cows to stand in. My son in law was a dairy farmer and my DH asked him to preg check the cows. For some reason my SIL thought my DH had picked up a sleeve glove for him to check & my DH assumed my SIL still had some.....you know men & their communication skills. Anyway since we had no sleeve I suggested wrapping his arm in saran wrap & using a latex glove.....It worked but was really funny to see. By the way, old shorty was pretty sneaky and brought his own step stool, SIL checked 3 of the tallest cows & we figured he managed with the gals with long legs so he was probably successful with the shorter gals. OK enough of that.

I made this card after seeing a card made by Sheri Lee of Surrey, BC. I copied how she made the owl from punches. I thought she was pretty clever. I free handed the branch and ran it thru the distressed cuttlebug folder. I cuttlebugged the orange background (which happens to be an orange envelope cut in half, The feet & beak( SU! scallop punch & SU! 5 petal flower) are stamped with the SU! sanded background stamp and the Head(SU! round tab punch) and wings (SU! Scallop circle punch) are stamped with the SU! Cheesecloth BG stamp.

This picture is the inside tag pulled out slightly.

I have had this shoe pattern made by Ellen Hutson for I don't know how long & finally got around to trying it.

I love this little shoe.

I was surprised at how easy it went together. I used retired SU! designer paper and found out that you do not need double sided paper. The liner(orange) covers the DP so you really do not see it anyway.
I am irrigating until 3pm today so no playing until after then. Have a magnificent Monday!

RAK"D

I received a RAK from Kim Hughes. I was totally delighted & surprised. She has quite a resume . She sent me a business size envelope full of flowers so I am sending her this little cupcake card as a thank you. I used the SU! cupcake stamp for a pattern. The cupcake on the outside of the envelope opens as well as the card itself. I had to use Kim's strawberry from her set "Hugs & Kisses" . Thanks again Kim!

Dawn Griffith inspired this card. She received a swap with the idea at convention but didn't get the name of the stamper who came up with the idea. Her picture is on Dawn's blog so you can go check her out. I used a retired SU! punch for the hair and the 1 3/8 circle punch for nose & eyebrows. The stitching is a TAC stamp and the textured background is from a Fiskers embossing plate. Fun & quick card to make. Thanks Dawn for posting this cute little Frankie.

This is the last class in my Digi: In Deep class with Jessica Sprague . Jessica has a way of making you include yourself in a layout. This class was a "This is me" class. We had to take a picture of ourselves holding our finger up in a mirror. She taught us to blur everything but our focal point which was our finger. I love how she thinks when she is doing a layout because I probably never would have included myself in a layout like this on my own. I am sad to see this class come to an end, even though I am not done with the 3rd weeks assignment. The nice thing about it is I will always have access to watch the video tutorials & class materials forever. I do not have to feel pressured to complete this right now but to do it as I have time. Can't wait for the next session! Thanks Jessica for all your inspiration & my new found love of digiscrapping.

I am now going to get ready to go on a date with my DH of almost 35 years....we are going to a Diamondback game. Hope you all have a inspiring, prosperous week ahead!

Trip to the Zoo

I went to the zoo with my oldest DD , DIL and 5 grand kids. We had a wonderful time. The animals were all great but my favorite was the caged area we went into with 16 spider monkeys running free. They were hilarious. We were told not to stand under them as they towered above our heads on ropes and tree branches. They were so active it was hard to get good shots of them. Just thought I would share.

Just Playing

I was playing around....not too excited about the way this card turned out but thought I would post it anyway. I used my SU! set Heard from the Heart for the sentiment.

Then I cut a little box on my cricut, the stamp is a TAC stamp(not sure of the name). I love the black ribbon I got from Just4funcrafts.com. it curls all by itself. I thought i would fill it with candy for the grand kids.

I found a tutorial which is at this BLOG . It is made with CD jewel cases. I put it on an end table with all my mini scrapbooks in it. I have lots of grapes decorating my house and this just ties right in.

I am such a bad friend!!!! Jenn sent this to me as a thank you for her birthday gift & I forgot to post it....So Sorry Jenn! I love her color combination. Thanks again Miss Dove! ( I guess that is Mrs. Dove.....huh!)

Last, my friend Pam brought me her lamp shade & ask me to do something to tie it in with the palm tree theme she has going on. I used SU! Balmy Breezes and you really can't see it but there are gold flecks on the palm fronds. I hope she likes it. No stamping this week so not sure if I will post anything else. I need to concentrate on my Jessica Sprague class. I have been lazy lately. Too much going on! Hope you enjoy your week!

Wednesday cards

We made three cards at Sam's on Wednesday. This first card was Vickie's creation,. Sorry the picture is a little blurry. We used SU! Ruby Red, black & white. The background is hard to see but was made using a cuttlebug folder. Great card Vickie.
Carolyn came up with the second card. I believe both Carolyn & Vickie cased a SCS card but not sure who to give credit to so if this is yours please let me know so i can properly credit you. On Carolyn's card it is hard to see but there are stickles on the flowers which makes it realty POP in person. Another great card.
Jenn at just4funcrafts.blogspot.com gave me this pattern for the cupcake cards so naturally I had to try it out. She got the idea from Valita's blog. I love these cupcake cards. Fast & fun to make.

I sorta cased a card Vickie made for her daughter who is expecting. I used my cricut to cut the stroller. This card is for my niece who is having her 4th son. I was sad to find out she didn't want a shower so I decided to make her something anyway.

As far as digi scrapping, i am behind in my class. i have been busy with making Save the Date cards, Invitations for another friend, Love Savers, Wedding favor tags and wedding invitations. I am still working on some of it so I have neglected my scrapping and starting to have withdrawals...LOL. I am going to watch the news & hit the hay....til next time...tootles.

Wednesday Creations

I had to make another Gingerbread page & this is my sweet little GD who calls herself Nana. I used a template by Kristin Aagard called Circles & Stars. The paper & Gbboy is from the Gingerfella Collections from Nit Wit Collections . Sorry about all the Gingerbread but as I have said before I am addicted to the little guys so if you happen to see any & think of it....please let me know where they are. Thanks in advance.

I made this for a friends birthday. My DD & I made homemade apple butter so i am giving her a jar with a fabric lid & raffia tied around it. I made a recipe card in Photoshop and put that on a garden stake. The apples are cut with my Cricut and put in this cute little bucket. I hope she likes it.

Sam made these cute little felt Sunny Side Up Eggs for the group and this 1st tree card is her shoebox card for us to make. She said I needed to credit Tracey Cuccia for the original on this card(I think Tracy's card is in the Pink Cat Studio Gallery) Sam added the cuttlebug texture to her card. The little owl is peeking her head out of the hole. Love hoe cute this card is so naturally I had to make the second tree card when i came home. I changed it up just a little more to add the leaves. Thanks Sam for the great card. I will be posting Laura's creation when I finish it. I didn't want to complete it yet so I could refer back to it to case it.....It is really cute too. Hope you all have a great rest of the week...til next time.

This weeks class

This is our lesson on week 2 of Jessica Sprague's Digi:In Deep. We learned so much on this lesson, pretty amazing how effortless she makes it seem. I will definitely have to do several layouts to remember this stuff. Class supplies are as follows:

SP Lima background papers: From Monoblendz Paperie - Lima paper pack by Anna Aspnes
Rounded corner square die cut: from Border Templates pack by Katie Pertiet
Striped patterned paper: from Bohemian Garden kit by Mindy Terasawa
Dirty Journaler Label: from Dirty Journalers set by Katie Pertiet
Grunged Up Photo Block: from Grunged Up Photo Blocks No. 2 set by Katie Pertiet
Staples by Katie Pertiet

I fudged on this one, I used a gingerbread album for the main frames. I did make the brown star paper though. This was made using Heather Roselli's ( sweetshoppedesigns.com) Christmas Cookies & her Admit One Cookie kits. The grunge frame is the same one I used on the 1st layout by Katie Pertiet. I just love her style.

OK I did make some cards too. This card is using a Stampendous stamp with SU!s new Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette cardstock. I love the new SU! colors. I wasn't wild about them at first but they have grown on me. The next card was inspired my Lauren Meader .

She has one of the best blogs out there. I do not know how she manages to do everything she does. She is truly an inspiration. This is my card for tomorrows get together. I am going to show my pals how it's done. LOL They could probably show me better. I will post our Wednesday cards soon...that is if we even stamps since the SU! catty's are here. Hope you have a prosperous week!
