Jenn's Birthday gift

Jenn at just4crafts had a birthday this week and I didn't make it over to give her her gift in time so I decided to hold off posting just in case she checked it out here first. This is made with 5 long envelopes that open on the end. I made a chipboard cover and bound the envelopes to the cover using waxed linen. The J on the cover is from SU!. The paper used was from a DaisyD premium pack. I used an old dictionary to pick out words that described Jenn.

Some of the words I used were create, gardener, Dove (Jenn's middle name), celebrate, life. I missed her age by 3 years but which way I will not tell. Let's just say I was kind...LOL.

This page folded up and fit into one of the envelopes. I used a dauber to make the polka dots.

The card I gave her said " I heard you were having a belated birthday this year, I bet all those other fools sent you a card on time." Oh well, Jenn, hope it was happy!

I made this little TicTacToe board using a DVD tin from Just4funcrafts . I used SU! Halloween paper from a mini catty, the Stamp sets are SU! Web Wishes, Booglie Eyes and $1 stamps from Michael's.

Panties......

My friend Rachele emailed me yesterday to tell me the first thing she saw when she opened her new

Little Lady set from PaperTreyInk, the first thing she saw was panties. I thought that was a hoot so I asked her if she minded if I made some cards with her idea & posted them. These are the three cards I came up with. The 1st one is using the small solid ladybug body and the other two are the big body. The flip flop stamp is SU! A Little Love. The sentiment on the 1st card is Karen Foster snap stamps and the other two cards were made with the computer. The red one says " Do these make my butt look BIG?" and the 2nd one says "I didn't realize you meant shoes".

Today I get to play most of the day so I am pretty happy. I may even try some challenges & card sketches. If I am successful I will post more later.

This card was so much fun to make. The set is Little Lady from PaperTreyInk.com and the inspiration came from Julie Campbell . Julie's blog has really cute stuff on it. Great ideas. I used the swirl background wave that Debbie inspired me with on the following card. The sentiment is
made using Karen Foster snap stamps. It says "grouper hugs". I used a corner punch without the guard for the bubbles & then cut them up. The cardstock is Cool Caribbean. The fins & head of the fish are Taken with Teal stamped on SU!'s new River Rock & the patterned paper is some I ordered from Overstock.com.

Debbie Olson inspired me for this card. She has the best ideas..I loved how she used the swirls cuttlebug folder to make the waves. SU! Crab & Co is the set I used for the crab & sentiment. The paper is SU! Cool Caribbean and the new Groovy Guava inked with Real Red.

I ordered this cute stamp from GinaK and the scallop outline is from her new line of stamps that she recently released. I used SU! Cameo Coral and White CS, the background is a TAC background, I am drawing a blank on the sentiment.

This stamp was a freebee from MissyB's. I was really excited that she threw a free stamp in with my order. I shouldn't try to color when I don't have my contacts in....LOL. Thanks Missy!

Today we all got together at Laura's and oohed & aahhhhhed at the new catty for most of the morning. Then we only had time to make 2 cards so I thought I would post the card that we made that Sam came up with. This is a TAC set, the card is done like a file folder with lined paper on the inside. The monkey set was last months SOTM. That is it for today......can't wait til July 1 now!

What I have been doing...

* The stamp site for the large paperbags is http://www.stamponthis.com/. My good friend Rachele (who is also one of my enablers.....bigtime) sent me the correct info. Thanks!!!!
I have been busy this week finishing up some of the gifts for my niece Becky's baby shower. These little shoes are her card, I made them like the flip flop card but used baby sandels instead. The front of the sandels have little blue & purple butterflies on them so I carried that out on the inside of the card.

This is a Sonic drink holder that I altered. First I "painted" it with the colored mod podge that I made using reinkers. I based the whole box to make it more sturdy. I then added paper & punched out flowers, added rhinestone flowers to the centers of the flowers, leaves punched from a Martha Stewart punch and lots of ribbon.

On the goodies inside I just made a band to go around the product and added flowers & ribbons.
I did use a jumbo wheel to roll some leaves onto tissue paper & stamped little pink flowers randomly on the leaves. I used the tissue to take up space so the bottles would not shift when I was carrying it.

This is a large lunch sack that I bought a long time ago at a place that I think is out of business. I tried to find the link but am unable to locate it. It was called somethingtostampon.com but that leads to nowhere. Oh well I took the scallop circle(giga) punch to cut the scoop neck out. The sleeves are done by opening the fold on the side and folding it out straight, measuring down 2 inches & cutting just to the fold. You then tuck the bottom side back in and leave the sleeves out. I hope that made sense. I punched a circle out & glued it to the inside where I wanted my ribbon to go & using the double circle punch made an opening to tie my ribbon thru.
Well off to go get ready for the shower. Happy Saturday!

Retired accessory link

Thought I would share with you.

MissyB Stamps

These are two stamps I got from MissyB's Designs . I just love these little bugs. On the ladybug card I used Real Red, Basic Black and White cardstock, all from SU!, The ribbon is hard to see but it has little ladybugs on it. My SIL and I found this little ribbon store in Gilbert or Mesa, I can't remember what it is called but if you want to know email me & I will get the info from her. They had a nice selection of really cute ribbon.

This little bee was made with Summer Sun, Basic Black and White, The just because sentiment is from Michael's $1 Bin....

The SU! retired accessory list is out, not sure what they are up to but
discontinued accessories are available until June 30, or while supplies last. Quantities are limited to stock on hand, so once they're gone, they're gone!
Stamps and wheels will be available through June 29.
In addition to discontinued items, Stampin' Up has a number of items that will be offered in a different quantity or assortment in the upcoming catalog. This year, we're offering the following items differently in the Fall-Winter Collection 2007:
Select individual color packs of 12" x 12" card stock
Confetti White & Kraft Tiny Takeout boxes & tags
Select embossing powder colors
Select 1/4" grosgrain ribbon colors
Corner Rounder punch . We will see what up shortly because I believe the new catty's have been shipped. At least that is what I am thinking since I haven't ordered anything else from SU! except new catties and I received a confirmation that my order was shipped yesterday. Hope your day is inky!

I finally found my battery charger!!

I made these 2 cards the other night but when I went to take a picture, my camera battery was dead. I couldn't remember where I decided to put my battery charger that had my spare battery in it. At the time I thought it was a good place & I wouldn't forget where it was....HA, I guess age is catching up. If it keeps up like this I guess that saying will be true about me being able to hide my own Easter eggs. Anyway. This 1st card is made from a CTMH set called Dino Roar. I just love it even if I grabbed the wrong colored pencil for his head. My grandson won't even notice I am sure!

My second card is with all SU! supplies. Delight in Life is the stamp set. I used Only Orange, Summer Sun and White cardstock, Only Orange and Versamark ink, White Gel Pen and Certainly Celery marker.

This sweet card is from Doris Garvey, It is a SCS-Brak. Doris lives on the other side of Phoenix and our birthday's are 2 days apart.

My friend Sam Hartford made this cute little card for me, She has a little convertible also which happens to be gray too. With temps being 110 degrees+ I guess we won't be riding around with our tops down......the top of the car not our blouses! Just thought I would clarify that. I have another card in the making. I just got my shipment from MissyB's. She has some darling stamps. Well I am off to go take my 92 year old MIL to the Dr. Happy Stamping!

Here is the card I made for Jim for Fathers Day. I loved Cambria's tutorial, it was really easy to follow. I should have made the tie out of Cameo Coral but I was afraid he might think it was too "Pinkish" for him. I used chocolate chip, cameo coral and close to cocoa cardstock. The light brown paper on the bottom is actually textured paper that came between sheets of stain glass I had ordered. The shirt is from SU DS Rebecca. Ribbon is CTMH. The texture for the top was made with a cuttlebug folder. Sentiment is from SU All Year Cheer II.

For Fathers day I thought I would make my DH a photo cube that I got from Jenn at Just4funcrafts.com . He has been asking me for pictures of the grandkids for his office. I hope it isn't too frilly for him with all the flowers and ribbons. If so I guess I will just have to keep it here at home. OH darn!

My good friend Rachele who happens to be my CTMH demo gave me this wonderful little accordian scrapbook kit. We are getting together next Thursday & I told her I would have it done with pictures and journaling by then. This was really fun to do and went by pretty quick since alot of the pages are already "layered". I just added pockets, pictures & embellishments. Most of the pictures are from Easter.

DH and a llama are on a huge pull out tag in the pocket. On the opposite page I made a little fold out booklet to add a little dimension.

Here it is opened.

The left side of this page has another pocket I added & I ended up with extra paper so I made 3 "cards" that slip into the pocket. This gave me even more room for pictures.

Here they are out of the pocket.

Of course we can't leave out the pups...DH's pride & joy. Man will I ever be glad when they get out of the chewing stage. One puppy is bad enough but FOUR.....geez!!

This is the back of the book .

Fathers Day Card & Gift

My SIL, Debbie, has been bugging me to post pictures of my work area so here goes. I just bought the IRIS containers. I have one on each side and all my punches are within easy reach, above on the shelves are some of my ribbons in SU Ribbon holders. Primas are in the baskets. I bought a lazy susan at Walmart & have my scissors, pens, pencils. rulers and other goodies in containers on the lazy susan.

I have more ribbon here which I really need to organize better but I feel I don't get enought time to create so I tend to keep putting that off so I can play more. LOL...really I am just lazy!

My SU stamps are filed in alphbetical order according to size. All my other stamps have no organization to them. I have them above my desk and next to my SU stamps.

Here I used an over the door shoe holder for my Cricut Cartridges. Inside my closet I have all my paper and alterable items. I keep my inspiration magazines, supplies and everything else in there too.

Sunflowers

I just wanted to share my sunflowers with you. They will be becoming bird food before too long. There are two that have already drooped over. The farthest one back is the one I took a close up of, I am 5'6" and I was looking straight up when I shot the single flower picture. Keeping in mind they are in a 1 foot raised bed so it is probably over 8 feet tall.

Another Zoofari card

This is for my poor sneaky snake that got tangled up in the bird netting. I love that cuttlebug folder that looks like snake skin, I used Only Orange, Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise and SU! DS Dots and Dashes paper, SU markers were used to color the snake, SU Zoofari stamp set(coming up in the new catty) and the sentiment is from Karen Foster snap stamps. I will post more later....

Paula's Challenge

Good Morning, again! While reading my email I came across a challenge from Paula at Paula Ponders, that I found interesting. The following is all you were able to use. Cardstock:1/2 sheet of cardstock 8-1/2" x 5=1/2",1 piece 3/4" by 5-1/2",1 piece 2-1/2" x 2-1/2",1 piece 2-1/8" x 2-1/8". You can not use: Any background stamps,Roller Wheels, Ribbon. You Can Use: Eyelets, Brads, Flowers or Buttons or anything else that does not fit in the background, roller wheel or ribbon catagory. Here is my creation. I used the ladybug stamp from SU! Figure of Speech, 3 black brads, Black & Red Cardstock, the 1/8th inch punch, corner rounder and a paper piercer which is really hard to see in this scan. Pop on over and take her challenge. I thought it was fun.

The colors look off in this scan. I actually used chocolate chip cardstock and it almost has a greenish hue to it. The spotted paper is actually wallpaper. My friend, Sam, went to a wallpaper store and asked them what they did with their old wallpaper books. They started saving them for her instead of throwing them away and she was kind enough to share them with our little Wednesday group. I also used my Karen Foster snap stamps for the sentiment. The tiger is from SU!. It is one of the new sets that will be available in the upcoming catalog. I used nailheads instead of brads on this one. More posting later!

As promised I finished Ella's little booklet. Some of the pictures aren't the best but at least you will get an idea. I used the same papers that I used on the papermache letters that I made earlier for her.

Here is the first page. I didn't pull out the tag but I should have. I stamped Miracle & the definition on the bottom of the tag.

I made a little accordian fold out on this page for extra little pictures and journaling.

The front of the accordian foldout.

Here is the back side.

This paper reminded me for some reason of Ella's mommy so I felt it shoud be for a pic of Mommy & Me.

A place for a picture of Ella and her daddy.
