Easter Card

Just a quick post to show you a card we made on Wednesday. This was Carolyn's creation and I just finished mine this afternoon so I thought I would post it. We masked off the eggs and them tapped ink onto the eggs using stipple brushes. The bird was positioned using a stamp-a-ma-jig. Sorry once again I failed to get the maker of the stamps. I will try better to get this info. Hope you all have a great weekend. We are suppose to hit 82 degrees. I love it! Everything is blooming out & things are greening up. It is my favorite time of year!

The Bottle has Landed

Patty emailed me today to let me know she received the bottle. I had to laugh at the picture she sent to show me what shape it came in. I mailed her bottle on Monday from AZ to OH. That wasn't too bad even if it didn't get the TLC it deserved along the way, but luckily she said everything was OK and she & her kiddo's were excited to play with their new candy.

Cricut Tip

If you have a Cricut, you may or may not have discovered that you can make a fun card using the New Arrival cartridge. I discovered by accident that if you use the "card 2" setting and the third button on the right hand side of the bottom row that says "foundation" you end up with a card that has a scalloped edge like my strawberry card below. I have my settings on 5 1/2 on size and 5 on both of the other dials. The card has the window already cut out and there are little tic marks where you score the card.

The Mini Monogram Cricut cartridge also has the square & circle scallop. They are great for making a large scalloped bases. I have seen the same size scalloped circle base at Swoozies .

This is a card we made on Wednesday using a Stampendous stamp. The cardstock is all SU! Sentiment is from a $1 acrylic stamp from Michael's. Have fun playing.

One More....

OK....promise, last post today. This one just cracked me up. With the M&M's it looks like this one has crooked teeth and he is screaming in horror. I just had to show you. I used the cuttlebug to texture the ears & cheeks and I did put a lollipop stick in the bottom.

I am done posting til next time which is not today! Happy crafting!

Small bunny treat

I just thought of this little bunny and decided to try it . I picked up these little heart shaped tins at www.just4funcrafts.com. I talked to Jenn and she even suggested to take your crop-a-dile , punch a hole on the bottom and put a wooden skewer in it for a plant pick or to go in a Easter basket. You could even use a sucker stick for a shorter version. Jenn even has the whiskers which are waxy linen. If you use the coupon code of susave5 you can get a 5% discount on your order. Some items do not apply to the 5% thought....but almost everything does.

Cased Easter Egg Box

I loved the egg box that Nichole Heady did on her blog. Her stamp set Just Hatched just makes this box. PaperTreyInk has them in stock too.

Nichole said the boxes took paint well so I did a light wash using a metallic gold paint. I love how it has a little glimmer to it in the light. Hobby Lobby has a paper sale(5 for a $1) going on this week and I picked up the paper there. I used large polka dots on the lining of the box and the top inside of the box. The small polka dots are on the inside bottom and on the inside edges of the top as well as on the box itself. I faux stitched the sides and used a Sakura glittery gel pen for the "thread".

I found that the organdy polka dot ribbon was easier to work with than the grosgrain ribbon. I also found if you ran a small stretch of Tombow on the center only of the ribbon it stuck to the egg and was easier to tie & it helped it stay in place. The eggs are filled with starburst jelly beans. I had so much fun making this I ordered some more boxes. I also love the fact that the "egg" tray slides up or down so you can use it at the top of the box or down low. I will post the next one too. Thanks for peeping in.....

Mailing a 2 liter bottle

Here is what I did to mail the blog candy that Patty won. I took a 2 liter bottle, exacto knife, a piece of ds paper , a piece of lightweight cardstock, tacky tape, packing tape( clear is better but since I can't find my clear I had to use red), crystal effects, ribbon and pinches.

First I took the label off of the rinsed out and died 2 liter bottle, using my exacto knife I sliced about a 5 1/2 " slice on the side of the bottle. I also took the cap off & places crystal effects on the threads then screwed the top back on.

I stuffed all the goodies in being careful not to enlarge the slice. (This one was pretty packed) I normally use sizzle paper but I didn't have room in this one.

Next I placed my packing tape over the slit. Then all you have to do is cut your paper to size to fit over the slit. I cut 2 strips about 5 3/4 " and tape them together using tacky tape then I place tacky tape on the bottle to make sure it doesn't slip off during shipping. I place ribbon around the seams on the paper for decoration and on the edge of the cap. I punch circles and glue them to the top of the cap and last I make an address label and used tacky tape to adhere it over the seam. Be sure you do not scrimp...you don't want it to slip off in shipping either.

Here is the finished project. Postage depends on the weight of the bottle, I have spent anywhere from $3.00 to $5.oo to mail these. This one was $4.60. I always get nice comments from the recipents about how fun it is to receive one. Why not RAK someone special and try this!

I also make this little easter card. I do not have this stamp but I believe it is a Stampendous stamp. I used a friends stamp & just stamped off about 10 of this little guys but I didn't pay attention to whose stamp....sorry. The paper I picked up at a LSS Paper Vineyard in Chandler whose grand opening is going to be on the 1st of March I believe. I colored the images in with prismacolor pencils and the little polka dot brads are from paper wishes. Thanks for stiopping by!

OK I have been tagged by my friend Rachele. Its the middle name tag game!

These are the rules:

You must post the rules before you give your answers. You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to update your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and need to read your blog for details.

New cuttlebug folders

I made this card awhile ago. Anna had a challenge on her blog and I took it but never uploaded it so I figured I would do it now.....better late than never right? I used the baby boy paper from DCWV and the card base is SU! Eggplant Envy(discontinued). I do not know why SU! retired this color ...it was one of my favorites! Oh well the bird stamp is from SU! A Little Birdie Told Me.

I don't know if you can see it very well but the green paper is embossed with one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders. (You can click on the picture to make it bigger)I love the new folders that came out. The card base is using another cb folder that has been out for awhile. The stamp is from Whipper Snapper. Such a fun stamp to play with. I put beads on the ice cream for sprinkles. The sentiment is from SU!

This little Stamp is from Stampendous. I used another new cuttlebug folder on this card. It is the dots embossing folder. The card base was cut using New Beginnings cricut cartridge. It even scalloped the edge and cut a window in the card. Using my mega & giga square punched I framed the window. The flower on the front is punched with SU!scallop circle punch and the sentiment is a SU! SAB rub on. The mini brads I picked up at just4funcrafts.com(if you order anything from her you can use the savesu5% code & get an additional 5 % off most items.....I know I am an enabler) Thanks for stopping by and looking. I feel some blog candy coming on.....check back!

Whoo Hooo

I won some great blog candy..... have a look. Christina had her first blog candy giveaway and I was the lucky winner. She has some really cute cards and goodies on her blog. Go check her out!

Sweets

I know you are probably getting sick of sympathy cards but I believe this one is the last. My sweet friend Laura sent this card. I just love Laura's style. She usually does her sentiments with the computer. Thanks Laura.....another cute card with tons of meaning!

I absolutely LOVE the little baby girl & boy paper put out by DCWV. When I saw the strawberry paper, I knew my Stampendous stamp that I had not used yet was going to see ink. I think this paper was just made for this stamp. I used prismacolor pencils to color the images & then put crystal effects on the cherries, plates & parts of the cupcake & cakes. This was a fun card to make. Hope you enjoy.

Wednesday Cards

Hi All! Here are a few cards we made at our Wednesday gathering. This 1st card is made with a WhipperSnapper stamp. We used the cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and colored the little frog with prismacolor pencils. Much more vibrant in person.

I felt like using some springy colors so I came up with this little card. Again the cuttlebug was used for the background. We actually used a new dot folder on this one. I love anything to do with dots. All the supplies are SU! with the exception of the green ring of flowers. That is a TAC stamp.

Carolyn came up with this card. She found the directions in the new Papercraft magazine. She had the same paper used in the magazine . Thanks Carolyn for the cute card. She even made Valentine cookies & cooked us lunch.....a yummy ham ,cheese & broccoli ring. We had a wonderful salad with it.

I have to go make my SIL a 60th Bday card....I keep telling her she is Sixty, sexy & single so now I just have to come up with a card to match. I will post whatever I come up with. Happy Stamping!

Happy Valentines Day.

My SIL's wedding anniversary is on Valentine's day. I made her a little frog card from my new WhipperSnapper stamp. This little guy is one of Anna Wight's. I did get 3 more stamps, can't wait to play with them too.

My sweet friend Rachele sent me this card which I just love. The colors are so rich. The stars are chipboard. I really like her style. Thank you my dear friend.

Here is another sympathy card I received from a brand new stamper......I think I hooked her. Vickie made this wonderful card for my family. The butterfly is popped up off the card. Thanks Vickie it means alot.

The roller coaster of Life

Friday, Febuary 1st, my 93 year old mother in law went home to be with her Maker. We knew she didn't have much longer on this earth but it still didn't make it any easier. I can honestly say that I was blessed with a wonderful mother in law. She remained so positive right up to the end. Tuesday her 17th great grandchild was born. Many other highs and lows hit this same week, prayers were answered and prayers are still being asked for for other members of our family. Life really is a roller coaster. I have so many wonderful friends who called ,came, sent flowers, cards, food and pitched in to help make this week easier and I am so thankful to have them in my life. Thanks you all friends & family.

This is from Jenn. The picture does not do it justice. There are so many dimensions to this card. Everything is popped up and lots of detail. Thank you Jenn.

Sam sent this beautiful card. The pictures do not do either of these cards justice for that matter. They are both just beautiful and mean so much. Thanks Sam
