SIL's Birthday

My SIL's birthday is on Tuesday the 2ND (We won't say how old she is......but boy is it OLD!) LOL. I picked up this tall canister and used my Home ProTool to punch hole in the lid so the pipe cleaners would look like stems coming out of the top. Using the Cricut, punches and Primas, I made a little garden on top, adding 3 clear stamp sets to the mix. I cut Happy Birthday out using the Cricut to decorate the front on the can & then filled the can with candy bars & kisses. Now I have to tell her to stay away from looking at my blog until she receives this. Off to work in the gardens to get them ready for the wedding....I almost typed weeding....actually that is what i am working on. Hugs!

Wanted

Good morning, it seems as the wedding draws nearer my mind seems to be overwhelmed and then something takes place to put everything back into perspective. I made this card for a dear friend of ours who happens to be a true cowboy. He is in the hospital and last night we went to visit & it just so happens he was having exploratory surgery. The Dr. came out to let everyone know he is 99% sure it is cancer. It seems that dreaded disease has attached itself to his liver and stomach but they believe it started in his colon and possibly is on his prostrate. In side the card I stamped " You to get well soon". Please say a prayer for Charlie, he is such a wonderful caring gentleman.

For the card I used the SU! Wanted, the background is SU! Sanded. I had a piece of pleather or faux leather from working in the drapery shop that I thought went well with set. I used nail heads & the metal corners that I picked up at just4fun . The rope is made with waxy flax also from just4fun. Fitting card for Charlie. Hope you all have a great day, thanks for looking. HUGS!

Sam's present

I glued candy bars around the outside of a plastic bowl. I had to hold them in place with rubber bands until it dried. Once it was dried I put the floral foam in the bowl and made flowers with punches. For the center of the punch I took the big eyeballs & made a slit in the back, removed the dot (pupil) and I put various items back into the eyeball. I filled them with brads, jewels, small leaves to embellish with then I glued a wire stem to each flower, covered it with leaves and stuck that into the foam. I made a happy birthday banner using my cricut and made that stand in the middle with two wires. I put a few other things in the base on top of the spanish moss which covers the foam. I was flipping through the oriental trading catty and saw the foam scarecrow and got the idea to use a black bag for the scarecrow. I cut the top of the bag off with scalloped scissors, free handed the hat & beak. I used raffia for the hair and made his scarf and bow with some paper I have had for awhile. I used the same googly eyes that I used for the center of the flowers but left them as eyes this time.....as if you couldn't tell. LOL. Sam's basket slid right in the bag perfectly. Hope she likes it. I will try to get better pictures once she opens it. Tootles!

Cased

I was surfing all the different blogs and happened across a really great blog that had a card I just had to case. Stampwithstef made her card for a challenge and it turned out darling. I changed just a few things but the basic idea is hers. Thanks Stef! I have made another goodie but I can't post it until tomorrow. Sam, one of my stamping buds had a birthday on the 10th and we weren't able to get together until tomorrow so after she opens it I will upload pictures.
I just realized I forgot to ink the edges of the tombstones.....Oh well too late now. Guess i will just have to make another one.

Happy Fall

I have been going crazy not being able to stamp so today I decided I had to take at least an hour to make a card. This is what I came up with. I used a new SU! set that I received on Monday but didn't have time to even open the box until yesterday. The set is Autumn Harvest & it came cut already which was really nice. I hope SU! continues to precut sets because i would rather stamp than cut stamps. I used background paper that I have had for eons and stamped the pumpkins on the Only Orange CS first, then onto the printed paper, cut it out & glued it over the original stamp. The sentiment is from SU! Everyday Flexible Phrases. I think I will try to make another really quick before DH gets home.

Tea Party

My DGD first birthday is next month and I have had this idea in my head for some time now so I thought I would play around with it and see what I came up with. This is it. The frame is 16 x 20 inches so it was hard to take a picture of it. The stamp set I used is a CTMH set . I used SU! watercolor crayons for the color with my aqua pen. I found the gingham paper at the dollar store. I tried to hide the splices with cut outs. This is done on watercolor paper too. I still have some time left so I am going to go play some more. Hope you are having a wonderful Labor day.

Explosion Box

I have a SIL who isn't sure which button it takes to turn on a computer.....She is a sweetheart & extremely intelligent & talented, just doesn't have the time or patients to deal with the computer. I have tons of pictures of her first DGD and I would love to share them with her but I can't seem to remember to burn her a disc and then I am not sure she would look at it if I did so I decided to make her an explosion box. The pictures are not that good but I still think she will get a kick out of it. I have wanted to make an explosion box for the longest time & decided now is the time to try it out. I didn't show all the pages but I think you get the idea. Thanks for looking.
